Gyotaku is a Japanese art form originated around the mid to late 19th century. This way the fisherman could record and capture in detail the image of their catch. The Japanese inked the fish, laid rice paper over it and rubbed it to pull off an imprint of the fish. Today I use the same process but different materials. Instead of rice paper I choose fabric and paint. I print on shirts, dresses, tablecloths, napkins, drapes, and other functional mediums. Prints are of a variety of fish that I catch. Every print is Unique, hand painted and one-of-a kind. - PJC
